Senior Year: An Overview

I know it is a little late, but I want to go through and recap some of the highlights of my senior year of high school. It was a great year with lots of memories!

These are my friends and I on the first day of school. As seniors, we had earned the privilege of going off campus for lunch, and we were pumped.

We went to Sky Zone at the end of the year, and it was so much fun.
Tennis season. This is always the highlight of my school year. I love my team, I love the game, and I just have a blast every season.

I played powder-puff football! I was kind of nervous because it was totally new to me, but I ended up having lots of fun, and I really liked it.

I had a shopping day with a couple of my best friends and we took tons of pictures.

Erika, one of my best friends, won homecoming queen!

Ice-skating with Sarah.

In the winter, my youth group and I attended a youth conference. It was seriously one of the best experiences of my senior year. It was so great to connect with my friends and meet new ones.

I went to winterjam with my youth group. I LOVE CONCERTS.

PROM. I think the best part was getting all dressed up to be honest. Good memory!

On the day before our last day of school, my class went on a trip to a baseball game. It was really fun, but it was starting to set in that we only had a few more hours left with each other. This made things pretty emotional for everyone.

Then came the last day of school. :0 It was seriously the most emotional day ever. There was a slideshow at the end of the day that showed all the members of the graduating class and everyone was bawling and hugging during it. I go to a small school and so all of us had gone to school together since kindergarten. We had grown up together and we weren't sure what life would be like without each other. It was honestly a really hard day.

And then came graduation. I was getting over the sadness of being done with school and was becoming more excited for college, so I told myself I couldn't get emotional at graduation. And I didn't. It was nice though.

So that is it! Senior year was definitely the best year of high school I had, hands down. I didn't have a great freshman or sophomore year. Junior year was better, but this year I told myself I was going to try my hardest to make the most of every opportunity and have the best school year ever. Everyone always said, "Don't wish high school away!" and I was determined not to. Even when I really wanted college to come, I tried to still make the most of where I was and not wish it away. It was a great year, but I am definitely ready for college.

If I could give one piece of advice to incoming high school seniors, it would be to take chances. Do things that you never would have done before. Make memories. Intentionally plan fun things for you and your friends. Go to sporting events, try to meet someone new, and do something that you have always wanted to do. Memories are soon to be all you have left of high school!
